Can I carry out anti-theft marking of the boat/engine/PWC myself?

No. Anti-theft marking is only carried out by our authorised dealers. Find a dealer here.

How do I activate Securmark?

When you buy a boat that is anti-theft marked by the manufacturer, the marking must be registered to the boat owner. We call this activation. This can be done here

I have moved. How do I change my address?

I have bought a Securmark-marked boat/PWC. What do I do?

When you buy a boat/PWC it must be re-registered to you. We recommend that the seller carries out the change of ownership via My Page. Change of ownership can also be done on this page. Note that we require you to provide documentation (a sales contract or similar). 

I am selling a Securmark-marked boat/PWC. What do I do?

We request that you inform us when you have sold a boat/engine/PWC, so that the unit will no longer be registered to you. 

You can carry out the change of ownership on My Page or on this page. Note that the latter alternative requires that you provide documentation (a sales contract or similar).

If the new owner does not wish to register with us, please inform us by sending an email to mail@securmark.no or by calling (+47) 37 06 29 00. 

What does Securmark anti-theft marking consist of?

Our anti-theft marking consists of thousands of microdots, engravings, warning labels and registration in our active, international database. Read more about anti-theft marking here.

My warning labels are faded and worn out. Can I have new ones?

Yes! Warning labels have a strong preventive effect and we recommend that they are clearly visible. Send an email with your Securmark number, name and address to mail@securmark.no, and we will send you new labels free of charge.

How many microdots are sprayed onto the boat/engine/PWC?

Between 2,500 and 10,000 microdots, depending on the size of the equipment being marked (boat, engine, PWC etc.). Read more about anti-theft marking here

Can my boat be tracked?

No. Our anti-theft marking does not include tracking. 

Where do I find the microdots on my boat/engine/PWC?

The microdots are sprayed onto different parts of the boat/engine/PWC (in cavities), and the boat manufacturers and our dealers do this in accordance with our instructions. The microdots are not visible, but the police, customs service and our partners have special equipment for detecting the dots. Remember that a single microdot is enough to identify the boat/engine/PWC. 

Will the boat/PWC/engine’s properties be affected by the anti-theft marking?

No. The product only leaves identification traces and does not damage the equipment.

My boat/engine/PWC has been stolen. What do I do?

Contact the police and informing them about the theft. They will tell you how to proceed to report the theft.

Next, you report the theft to Securmark on this page. You can also call us at (+47) 37 06 29 00. We will initiate our internal processes, among other things by marking the unit(s) as stolen in our database.

Remember to also report the theft to your insurance company. In addition, we recommend that you post a notice on Facebook and other social media if you have photos and a good description of the boat.

My boat/engine/PWC has been stolen. What do I do?

I have received an invoice from you for the annual fee. What does it cover?

Securmark charges an obligatory annual fee. See our price list for recommended prices. 

Who has access to Securmark’s database?

Our database contains information about a large number of anti-theft marked units and their owners. The database is searchable at all times by the police, customs service and border police in most of Europa. It is also possible for insurance companies and rescue services to search our database. 

I am buying a boat. Can you check if it is stolen?

Yes, we are more than happy to help you verify Securmark-marked units. Note that we cannot disclose information about the owner.
